Great Inaugural Ride!

Great Ride -- Thanks for Joining Us

Thanks to everyone who came out on May 19 for Kidical Mass Arlington's inaugural ride.  Everyone had a great time, despite the grey weather.

We met up at Lubber Run, where we had a short safety briefing, and some of us enjoyed the playground.




Then we circled up... (notice the 3 cargo bikes!!!)

And headed off.










We headed down the quiet, tree-lined roads of Arlington Forest:

Then we rode onto the W&OD Trail, and continued through the park.  We passed some beautiful dogs and some other excited children.  Turning on the Bluemont trail, everyone made it up the only significant hill to get into the Bluemont neighborhood.  We all enjoyed the smooth pavement, cool shade and friendly waves as we rode up to Ballston.  We took the sidewalks and crosswalks of Ballston to roll into the courtyard near Big Buns and Vapiano.  Everyone enjoyed their choice of lunch and the great conversation.  Some even ventured over to the Taste of Arlington festival happening just one block away.  After lunch, most families biked directly home, but a few of us headed back to Lubber Run. 

All in all, a beautiful ride!
